Whenever I install a new version of Postman, I notice changes in its look and feel. The application continues to evolve, which is good, but finding the Import Collection option has often been a challenge for me.
In 2026, I installed a newer version of Postman on my laptop and faced the same challenge again: Where is the option to import a collection?
Step 1: Create a Workspace
I found a simple way to do it.
First, I created a new workspace in Postman. After opening the workspace, the Import option appeared prominently in the center of the screen.
Step 2: Click Import
Click the Import button. Postman will display the available options for importing your collection.
Select the collection file from your computer.
Step 3: Open the Collection File
After selecting the required collection file, click Open.
Postman will process the file and import the collection into your workspace.
Step 4: Collection Successfully Loaded
Once the import is complete, the collection appears in the Collections section of your workspace.
That’s it. The collection is now successfully imported and ready to use.
Quick Tip
If you install a newer version of Postman and cannot immediately find the Import option, try creating or opening a Workspace first. In my case, this made the Import option much easier to find.
